Project Overview
The Olive Avenue Project involved outfitting a newly constructed house with tailored window coverings. The homeowner and designer (Mad Design Interiors) chose a full suite of custom blinds and draperies to match the contemporary design language and clean lines of the home.
Design Goals & Approach
-
Harmonize with Architecture
The goal was to have window treatments that feel like a built-in part of the design, not an add-on. The blinds and draperies were selected to echo the home’s sleek surfaces and minimal detailing. -
Functional Elegance
The treatments must provide effective light management, privacy, and aesthetic presence without overwhelming the interior. Draperies soften the space; blinds bring clean lines and control. -
Cohesive Palette & Flow
Fabric and blind finishes were chosen to blend with wall tones, trim, and furnishings so that treatments enhance — rather than compete with — the overall interior look.
Benefits for the Home
- Versatile Light Control: Depending on room use and time of day, the homeowner can balance light and shade elegantly.
- Visual Integration: The custom treatments feel integrated into the design, adding to the high-end, tailor-made feel.
- Refined Ambience: Draperies add softness; blinds add order — together they elevate the interior environment.
