CHILD SATEFY REGULATIONS
When it comes to your children’s safety, ensuring your window coverings comply with child safety laws is crucial. According to established guidelines, any corded blinds or drapes pose a significant risk of entanglement, which is why regulations have been put in place to minimize these hazards.
Current child safety laws for window coverings emphasize the use of cordless or motorized options, as well as implementing features like cord tensioners or breakaway systems for blinds with cords. These laws are designed to protect children from potential accidents and provide peace of mind to parents and caregivers. All of our products comply with the latest safety standards, and we offer a wide range of cordless and child-safe motorized solutions to suit every style and home.
According to the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act regarding window coverings, an accessible cord must not be longer than 22cm, and a looped cord must not exceed the length of 44cm. If a cord exceeds this length, it must be attached to the wall or window frame to render it inaccessible by a child, as shown in the picture.

We offer complimentary standard installation within 20 km of our Halifax showroom for customers aged 70 and above on qualifying custom window covering orders.
