Irwin Hubley Project: Double Sheer Drapes & Roller Shades for Seamless Indoor–Outdoor Flow | MIFU Decor

Project Overview

With a stunning view outside, the clients for the Irwin Hubley Project didn’t want bulky curtains or heavy blinds obstructing sightlines. Instead, our team recommended double sheer drapes for the patio doors to preserve transparency while offering gentle screening. For the smaller windows, we used coordinating roller shades for practical light control.

Design Choices & Benefits

  • Double Sheer Drapes
These drapes provide a soft, layered fabric barrier that maintains the sense of openness. Even when closed, the sheers allow diffuse light to pass through, avoiding a heavy visual block.
  • Roller Shades for Smaller Windows
The compact nature of roller shades makes them ideal for secondary windows. They complement the main drapery scheme without competing for attention.
  • Cohesive Aesthetic
Both the drapes and shades use fabrics that blend harmoniously, maintaining a clean, elegant, and seamless look throughout the home.

Function in Daily Use

  • During the day, sheer drapes soften incoming light without fully obstructing the view.
  • At night or when more privacy is needed, the sheer drapes and roller shades can be adjusted or closed to shield interiors without harsh contrasts.
  • The choice avoids bulky hardware or heavy looks, preserving the flow between indoor and outdoor.
